Raul,

What a generous sharing! Thank you for this. I so get what you are saying.

Some times we have to--or GET TO--take the long road so that we might know what success really is. Life is a wonderful, amazing mystery. It's not for us to ask why, but to embrace the journey and increasingly open our eyes.

A salute your Strength for the journey and willingness to embrace, learn and grow with it.

To Your Life @ Full Strength,
Shawn

Hello Shawn,

I loved this post. You are totally right we have to keep the two separate. At one time I had found some success with a windfall, but lost a big chunk of it in mid 2008 when the market tanked. For the last couple of years I was disappointed as I never found satisfaction when I had the success. I was with out a career, little money, and like you said small collection of those "things".

Your speech in Tampa about Quantum change really hit home, since then I have been seeking satisfaction. I decided to change my entire environment. I moved from Texas to Massachusetts. A friend offered me a job in a field I have no experience in and a location that is cut off. I am currently living in an island in Cape Cod and working in a restaurant. I have been humbled and woken up to the things that truly matter. I am making a humble pay check each week and I am happier now than I have been in a long time. I am experiencing new things, learning new things, and making new friends just about everyday.

The material things I had were nice, but when they were gone I felt empty and I felt like a failure. As I experience these events of satisfaction I feel alive and I am living with a purpose. Shawn thank you for sharing these words of wisdom you have written. It reinforces this new adventure/experience I have begun, a new chapter in my life.

In appreciation,

Great post, Shawn... love it. I had a similar post in mind about "happiness ever after" not existing as a single point in time - it's a common bias many people (including me) have.

"Satisfaction effortlessly arises when you’re aligned with your passion, purpose and ability."

A statement so true to the very core. The stars will align and life questions and confusion will suddenly make sense. To hop on the path of your life purpose is first and foremost in attaining a life worth living ...

Great words to keep us on our path Shawn. Thanks!
