Layers of Positive Frosting

What if you are right?

Can Positive Frosting Sweeten Fear?

What if your view of the world around you is actually 100% true? Would that be more disturbing than comforting?

We all have a view of the world as largely safe and fulfilling or dangerous and cruel, and we play our hand according to this largely subconscious programming–this belief.

If we bring this belief to awareness and question, “Is this true? If it is true how would it feel?”

We get to try it on, and perhaps see that the story we’re creating of the world is either supporting your freedom, joy and happiness or keeping you trapped in fear, flight and fight.

My guess is that it’d be more disturbing for some, if not most. And that this would be shocking for many who see themselves as “positive thinkers,” who are seekers of self-growth and all that comes with it.

How could this be?

Think about it. When you’re core belief of the world is less than a safe, nurturing, land of fulfillment you’re inclined to spend a lot of time and energy trying to build up your belief–trying to shape it into that a safe, supportive, world that “positive thinkers” want to believe they think it is. When in reality you’ve got a negative, scary internal story that you’re trying to convince yourself is not true. And you do so not by releasing the negative but my piling on layers upon layers of positive “frosting.”

I invite you to check it out for yourself. Scrape away the layers of positive frosting and see what’s really there. For no matter how hard you try to make it a wonderful world, if your core belief is less than safe and nurturing, the evidence to support this deeper “truth” will always keep rising up to affirm the fears.

Plus, if you altered your core beliefs to the safe, fulfilling ones…imagine how much extra time and energy you’d have given you would be constantly layering on the positive frosting.

Very true!! you must find peace within yourself. Reality is that the world can be a very cold and cruel place and life can and will sooner or later force you to question who we really are at the very core of or existence. Nothing like a heavy unexpected dose of adversity to turn our world upside down and really force us to see ourselves for who we really are and what we really are all about. Often times that’s when the real soul searching happens and we come face to face with the the real person hiding underneath all those layers of guilt, fear resentment, whatever the case may be. What we do with what we find will ultimately define who we are from that moment on…It’s never too late to change if we are not happy with oursleves, we just have to face our greatest fears and insecurities…
